Seby Ntege & Band w/ support from Grupo Lokito & Maryama Cham
About
An afternoon of East and West African music headlined by Ugandan singer-songwriter Seby Ntege, with support from Grupo Lokito and Maryama Cham.
African Night Fever presents an afternoon concert headlined by Seby Ntege, a Ugandan singer-songwriter and master of traditional instruments such as the akogo, endongo, adungu and endingidi, blending traditional Ugandan music with contemporary songwriting. Support comes from Grupo Lokito, whose Congolese-fronted line-up mixes soukous-style guitars and keyboards with Latin-influenced rhythms, and Maryama Cham, a Gambian singer and pianist whose music combines acoustic performance with West African folklore. The event runs for two hours 45 minutes at Ropetackle Arts Centre.
