Coventry Biennial Presents: A Display of John Riddy’s Modernist Spaces
About
A Coventry Biennial display of John Riddy's photographs of modernist buildings worldwide, taken between 1998 and 2006.
This display presents photographs by London-based photographer John Riddy, who grew up in Coventry, documenting modernist buildings in locations ranging from the UK to Northern India and the Netherlands. Taken between 1998 and 2006, the images capture interior and exterior spaces, exploring how landscape, human use and social conditions shape how these buildings are understood. Curated by Coventry Biennial as part of the Coventry Art Show, the display responds to the theme Moments of Being from the British Art Show programme and reflects on the loss of post-war modernist architecture.
