Because You Can't Tickle Yourself

The Artist's Husband duo fills the West Gallery with installations about family myths, queer joy and laughter, using fairground, canal and Isle of Wight imagery.

Because You Can't Tickle Yourself is an exhibition by collaborative duo The Artist's Husband, Joshua Raffell and Dave Smithers. Their installations combine family myths, invented histories and queer joy with fairground, canal and island references. The works use humour and bold colour to invite viewers to compare the stories they were told with their own memories.
