After One

Zixiang Zhang's Clayden Gallery exhibition brings together three works in mycelium, knitted textiles, steel pipe and everyday objects, exploring making that continues beyond the artist's hand.

After One is a solo exhibition by Zixiang Zhang, winner of second place in the 2025 Quay Arts OPEN Biennial. Across three interconnected works, living fungal networks, knitted textiles, steel pipes and found objects form arrangements that change with surface, light, distance and the viewer's movement. The exhibition reflects on authorship and on materials that keep changing after the artist's initial work.
