About

A hands-on origami workshop with artist Ayako Ono, folding ninja stars, cranes and the space-engineered Miura fold.

Artist Ayako Ono leads a 90-minute origami workshop exploring folding challenges from simple to advanced. Participants can make an origami ninja star, fold a traditional crane, or attempt the Miura fold, a technique used to pack solar panels for spaceflight. The session suits complete beginners and experienced folders alike, with video guides available to help through each step. It is part of IF Oxford, the Oxford science and ideas Festival, and is aimed at ages 7–12, teenagers and adults, with under-16s accompanied by a responsible adult.
