Origami - the Art of Paper Folding

A hands-on origami workshop at Shrewsbury Library where artist Monika Cilmi teaches traditional Japanese paper folding for beginners.

This two-hour, in-person workshop introduces origami, the Japanese art of paper folding, with step-by-step guidance through the main origami bases. Participants create traditional pieces such as a tulip, kusudama flower, butterfly, dove and containers using colourful origami papers, taking home a variety of finished creations. No previous experience is needed, and the session is led by artist and art educator Monika Cilmi, whose studies in Japanese art inform her teaching.
