Quatuor Van Kuijk & Anneleen Lenaerts
About
Quatuor Van Kuijk join Vienna Philharmonic harpist Anneleen Lenaerts for a French programme of Fauré, Ravel, Debussy and Caplet.
The concert explores French music at the turn of the 20th century, moving from the intimacy of Fauré and Ravel to the theatrical atmosphere of Caplet's Conte fantastique, inspired by Edgar Allan Poe. The programme includes Ravel's Ma mère l'oye (arr. Guillon), Debussy's Clair de Lune and Danse sacrée et danse profane, Fauré songs and Impromptu in D-flat, and Caplet's Conte fantastique. Quatuor van Kuijk previously performed at St George's as BBC New Generation Artists, and the quartet describes its collaboration with harpist Anneleen Lenaerts as feeling like she were a fifth member. Suitable for ages 12+.
