About

An evening of philosophy talks at Steeple Church, Dundee, exploring how philosophy can help us cope with climate change, AI and modern life.

The Open University in Scotland hosts an evening of discussion on how philosophy can help us find meaning in the modern world. Professor Sophie-Grace Chappell examines why humans are at their best when learning and problem-solving; DrTina Röck explores attention as a practice, drawing on Buddhism, process philosophy and phenomenology; and Dr Costas Athanasopoulos considers what happens to judgement, ethical reflection and responsibility as AI takes on more human tasks. The event runs for 90 minutes and consists of three talks.
