About

An evening of two local history talks at the Quay Theatre covering the Sudbury to Felixstowe rail journey and the historic routes and roads that put Sudbury on the map.

Part of the Andrew Phillips History Evenings series, this session presents two talks on local history. Peter Rednall traces the train journey from Sudbury to Felixstowe, with diversions via Hadleigh and Ipswich Docks, comparing travel from the age of steam to today's bi-mode trains. Robyn Lloyd Hughes then explores Sudbury's roads, paths, tracks and rights of way and how centuries of mobility underpinned the town's prosperity.
