Lay Forum
About
An open afternoon forum at Cittaviveka on Kalyāṇa-mitta — metta, love and friendship on the Path — with meditation, lay and monastic talks and group discussion.
The Lay Forum at Cittaviveka Buddhist Monastery explores the topic of Kalyāṇa-mitta: metta, love and friendship on the Path. The afternoon begins with a ten-minute meditation, followed by two roughly fifteen-minute talks, one by a layperson and one by a monk or nun. Discussion then takes place in small groups of around five people for forty-five minutes, followed by thirty minutes of larger group sharing, a closing reflection chant, and tea and chocolate until 4.30 pm. The forum is open to all regardless of familiarity with Buddhism, with committed practitioners especially welcome.
