About
A traditional Japanese tea ceremony in the museum galleries, with ceremonial matcha prepared by host Yukie Williams and an introduction to sadō.
The Museum of East Asian Art hosts a Tea Ceremony in its galleries, where ceremonial-grade matcha is prepared by Yukie Williams, who has practised sadō for over a decade. Yukie Scott introduces the elements and stages of the Japanese Tea Ceremony, and guests sample a traditional Japanese sweet alongside the matcha. Each guest receives a 3g pouch of matcha from event partner Comins Tea, and afterwards can explore the museum including the Reimaginings exhibition and Discovery Room.
