Living Landscapes: an evening with Mark Horton
About
Professor Mark Horton gives a public evening talk on how to read and interpret the ancient Cotswold landscape using maps, LiDAR and other techniques.
This is the second talk in the Royal Agricultural University's Living Landscapes series of public evening talks covering history, environment, food and land use. Professor Mark Horton explains how to recognise landscapes that no longer exist in their original form, from simple field observations and historic maps to modern digital tools such as LiDAR, aerial photography and drone survey. The talk runs from 6.30pm to 7.30pm, preceded by arrival and refreshments and followed by a Q&A. Horton is a landscape archaeologist known for Time Team, Time Flyers and Coast, and is Pro Vice-Chancellor, Research & Enterprise, at the RAU.
