Arthur's Plough

A revived musical comedy play telling the story of Fordhall Organic Farm and farmer Arthur Hollins, performed by community actors and a choir.

Chris Eldon Lee's musical play about Fordhall Organic Farm returns in an updated 2026 version marking 20 years since the farm passed into community ownership. A dozen community actors from Shropshire perform under professional direction, accompanied by the Mere Singers choir, expanded for the occasion. The play celebrates Arthur Hollins' pioneering move into organic farming and his yoghurt factory, as well as the later fight by his children Ben and Charlotte to save the tenanted farm from industrial development through an innovative community share scheme.
