Collagraph + Carborundum

A live printmaking demonstration at the Imprint Art Fair showing how textured collagraph plates are built up and printed on the intaglio press.

Part of the Imprint Art Fair's studio programme, this session takes place at the intaglio press. Visitors can see how textured plates are constructed through layering, cutting and the addition of abrasive materials such as carborundum. The demonstration shows how the varied plate surfaces hold ink to create depth, tone and richly tactile impressions.
