About
A one-hour guided tour of Norwich Cathedral exploring how it was governed and changed during the reign of Elizabeth I.
The Norwich Society leads a one-hour tour of Norwich Cathedral focusing on the Elizabethan era, when the queen attended a service there during her 1578 visit to Norwich. The tour covers how cathedral governance developed under Elizabeth, the consequences of the dissolution of the Benedictine monastery, and the impact of the Reformation on the building's use and fabric. It begins at the western end of the southern aisle, meeting via The Hostry entrance.
