Flowers and Rock: Collective Gardening
About
A free, relaxed collective gardening session for local residents in Spike Island's outdoor spaces, with tea, coffee and creative activities for children.
Spike Island invites local residents and community members to a relaxed social gardening session to prepare the garden for the coming year. Participants can chat about gardening and art, enjoy complimentary tea and coffee, and help care for shared green spaces, with no gardening experience required. The session draws on themes of care and solidarity connected to exhibiting artist Beverly Buchanan, and creative activities and materials are available for young children. The group meets on the benches outside Spike Island, where team members in blue lanyards will welcome attendees; the session will be postponed if it rains.
