About

Sensory Storytelling uses objects, sounds, smells, textures and reminiscence to explore life in mining communities, for adults with learning disabilities and people living with dementia.

The Museum lists several stories about home life, animals and community, including one inspired by Betty Miller’s Royston sculptures. Sessions are available Wednesdays and Thursdays in term time, subject to volunteer availability; book in advance or ask at reception. Each lasts about 30 minutes for groups of up to ten.
