Printmaking with Jo Boddy
About
A linocut printmaking workshop for over-18s led by local printmaker Jo Boddy, covering drawing, carving and hand-printing an original design.
Local printmaker Jo Boddy introduces the basics of linocut printmaking in this four-hour workshop at The Lightbox. Participants create a simple line drawing, transfer it to lino, carve the design and print it in one colour, with a possible second colour if time allows. Printing is done by hand burnishing, with one small relief press available to share, and all inks, lino, papers and equipment are provided. Attendees leave with several impressions of their print and their carved lino plate; the session includes a 30-minute lunch break and takes place in the level 1 studio.
