About
Special three-day steam services behind Wightwick Hall 6989, the locomotive cast as the Hogwarts Express, with a return journey between Alresford and Alton.
The Watercress Line is running special services for three days behind the heritage steam locomotive Wightwick Hall 6989, which has been cast as the Hogwarts Express in the upcoming Harry Potter television series. The 4-6-0 5MT locomotive was rescued from Barry Island scrapyard in 1978 and restored over more than forty years by Buckinghamshire Railway Centre volunteers. Each experience is one return journey on the train from Alresford to Alton, running daily from 9:30am to 7:00pm. Booking is essential.
