Author Mary Lawson discusses her new novel Solace in Winter at an evening event hosted by Topping & Company Booksellers in Edinburgh.

Mary Lawson appears at The Royal Scots Club to talk about her new novel Solace in Winter, set in the small Canadian town of Solace in deep winter 1969. The story follows widower Jack, whose quiet life is overturned when an injured dog and a draft-dodger fleeing the Vietnam War arrive on the road into town, drawing in a growing cast of characters. Doors open at 6.30pm for a 7pm start. Lawson is the author of Crow Lake, The Other Side of the Bridge, Road Ends and A Town Called Solace.
