Glaze a 3D Printed Ceramic Vase
About
A one-hour beginner workshop glazing a 3D printed ceramic vase, exploring dipping, brushing and layering techniques before kiln firing.
Participants choose a ceramic vase printed layer by layer on the studio's ceramic 3D printer and explore glazing techniques including dipping, brushing, layering colours and wiping back to highlight the printed ridges. The session covers how glazes change in the kiln so attendees can plan their finish. No prior experience or attendance at the earlier 3D printing workshop is needed, and all materials are provided; finished vases are fired after the session and collected later. Sessions begin with a short health and safety introduction and end with cleaning down the space together.
