A hands-on two-hour workshop learning modern Kintsugi, repairing a ceramic bowl with metallic powders while exploring the philosophy of Wabi Sabi.
This workshop offers a contemporary take on Kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold, silver or platinum. Participants discuss the history and philosophy of the practice and the concept of Wabi Sabi while working on a ceramic bowl to take home, choosing from a selection of metallic powders to finish their piece. The session covers techniques for careful repair and patience while the glue sets, with refreshments provided.
