Library For the Future: Young People's Workshop with Tasnim Mahdy
About
Artist Tasnim Mahdy leads a free hands-on workshop for 16-25 year olds building a shared cardboard library inspired by readings and community knowledge.
Participants aged 16-25 join artist Tasnim Mahdy to imagine and construct a shared library from recycled cardboard, drawing on short readings including banned and challenged books. The session explores embodied, ancestral and community knowledge and what happens when stories are silenced, using building, collaging and play with colour and texture. Creations may include sensory corners, word sculptures or books that open into other worlds, and together they form a growing cardboard library. No art experience is needed.
