Leonid shooting stars and ancient constellations
About
A guided stargazing party at Sutton Bank ahead of the Leonid meteor shower peak, with telescopes, binoculars and a planetarium fallback.
This star party at the Hub at Sutton Bank National Park Centre is staged in the run-up to the peak of the Leonid meteor shower, with telescopes and binoculars available to view shooting stars, Saturn and constellations such as Cygnus and Pegasus. It runs for two and a half hours and includes colourful indoor presentations in a warm space with a purpose-built viewing area. If skies are cloudy, a computer-based planetarium show will stand in. The event is run with Go Stargazing, suits adults and children over six including novices, and takes place in the North York Moors International Dark Sky Reserve.
