John Ahern's historic Madder Valley model railway runs on selected days at Pendon Museum, with normal museum admission.
On selected running days, Pendon Museum operates John Ahern's historic Madder Valley Railway, a pioneering model railway credited with inspiring the modern model railway hobby. The railway runs to help preserve and demonstrate the creation, alongside the museum's usual displays. Visitors can also buy the recently published MVR guide book at the museum. The 2026 running dates listed are Father's Day Sunday 21 June, Saturday 3 October and Saturday 14 November.
