The Advent Procession

Bristol Cathedral's Advent Procession is a candlelit service moving from darkness into light with music, scripture and prayer.

The Advent Procession begins in complete darkness, with the Cathedral Choir first heard from the far end of the building before the procession starts. As the choir and vergers move through the Cathedral, candles are gradually lit throughout the congregation. Through music, scripture and prayer, the service marks the start of the Church's year and the journey towards Christmas.
