RC Sherriff Trust - Sherriff Talk and Silver Screen - November

A morning talk on Sherlock Holmes on screen followed by an afternoon screening of the 2025 drama Hamnet at Riverhouse Barn.

The RC Sherriff Trust presents a combined talk and film day. The talk, 'A Story So Elementary – Sherlock Holmes on Screen', examines the directors and actors worldwide who have adapted Arthur Conan Doyle's famous detective since his screen debut less than two decades after 1887's 'The Study in Scarlet'. The afternoon Silver Screen screening is Hamnet (2025), a 2h 6m drama rated 12, based on Maggie O'Farrell's novel about Shakespeare and Agnes Hathaway coping with the death of their son Hamnet, starring Jessie Buckley and Paul Mescal.
