In the Footsteps of Mudlarks – Blackfriars Bridge
About
A guided archaeology walk explores the Thames foreshore at Blackfriars Bridge, examining surface artefacts that reveal the river’s history. Meet at Rennie Garden on the south end of Blackfriars Road Bridge. The stairs are even and have a solid handrail; the route explores the foreshore towards Sea Containers House. Booking is essential. Children must be at least eight and accompanied by an adult, with no more than two children per adult. Wear sturdy footwear; waterproof gloves and hand sanitiser are recommended. Artefacts remain on the foreshore: take photographs, knowledge and memories. Starts vary with tide and weather; use the published time for each session. Income supports the charity’s school programmes.
