Engine House/Chimney Making Workshop

A pottery workshop turns the shape of a Cornish industrial chimney into a hand-built clay piece.

Build a clay piece inspired by a Cornish industrial chimney: roll coils, form the stack, then carve and decorate it to resemble stone; a handle can be added. Coloured slips, firing and glazing complete the work. The published workshop lasts four hours, though the end may vary slightly. Beginners aged ten and up are welcome; under-18s must be accompanied by an adult. The fee is £45, with £5 postage available; museum admission is additional.
