Poetry Writing Workshop

A beginner-friendly creative writing workshop at The Farmer's Arms learning how to write ballads, run by Grizedale Arts.

Grizedale Arts hosts a creative writing workshop using poems and other prompts to inspire participants to produce their own work in a supportive environment. This session focuses on ballads, one of the oldest and most traditional poetry forms, which were passed down orally before being printed and collected from the 16th century onwards. No previous experience is necessary, and the workshop caters for beginners as well as more experienced writers; participants just need paper, pen and enthusiasm. Afterwards there is the option to stay on for the pub's community lunch at £7.
