Bewdley Lights Special Train

A special heritage diesel train service from Kidderminster to Bewdley for the town's Christmas lights switch-on on 21 November 2026.

Severn Valley Railway runs a special heritage diesel train (a Class 108 DMU) shuttling between Kidderminster and Bewdley so visitors can attend Bewdley's Christmas lights switch-on. Outbound departures run from Kidderminster between 11am and 5pm, with return departures from Bewdley between 6pm and 8.15pm. In town, festivities begin from 11am with entertainment, Christmas shopping and a funfair, leading up to the lights switch-on at 5.30pm with the Mayor and Father Christmas. Seats are unreserved and allocated first come, first served, with limited space for wheelchairs, mobility scooters and pushchairs.
