Introduction to Machine Shop: Chopping Board (incl. Level 1 H&S induction)

A one-day woodworking course introducing the machine shop, where participants learn safe use of workshop machinery and make their own hardwood chopping board.

This one-day session at Blackhorse Workshop begins with an introduction to the Machine Shop, covering safe use of the chopsaw, bandsaw, pillar drill and disc and bobbin sander. After a talk on types and uses of hardwood, participants select timber from the onsite store and design their own chopping board, then build it with tutor support to take home. The course includes the Level 1 Health and Safety induction required to book a workbench and use the open access workshop in future.
