Redcar Christmas Light Switch On

A free family Christmas celebration on Redcar High Street with walkabout characters, live music, fairground rides, a market and the lights switch-on at 5.30pm.

Redcar's Christmas lights switch-on fills the High Street with street performances, live music and seasonal family fun from midday. Attractions include festive tales with The Winter Enchantress, a giant Snow Globe photo booth, walkabout characters such as The Grinch and Cindy Lou, Elsa and Anna, Frosty the Snowman and The Giant Juggling Elves, plus vintage fairground rides and inflatable curling. A Christmas market offers food and drink stalls, Arriva's Christmas bus brings Santa visits, facepainting and free crafts, and the Sidequest Horsebox hosts hands-on art activities. From 4pm the BBC Tees stage, hosted by Scott Makin, features live entertainment including Back Chat Brass, Urban Kaos and a community choir before the lights are switched on at 5.30pm.
