Nuansa: Indonesian Film Pop-Up presents a screening of Levitating, a film directed by Wregas Bhanuteja that recently competed at the Sundance Film Festival. The film is set in Latas Village, where traditional trance parties are a long-standing ritual; when the sacred wellspring used by spirit-channelers faces demolition, a young man named Bayu tries to become a spirit-channeler himself to lead a fundraising party and save it. The screening runs about two and a half hours, with doors at 11 AM, and ends with a virtual Q&A session with the director. It is for ages 15+ and is presented in collaboration with Manchester Central Library and Library Live.
