Unearthing England's Lost Soundtrack

The 'Music, Heritage, Place' team share stories from archives uncovering England's lost folk music, ahead of the Melrose Quartet concert.

The 'Music, Heritage, Place' team — described by BBC Radio as 'The Song Detectorists' — present the stories behind their research into music once heard in village greens, churches, chapels and taverns, including discoveries from North and West Yorkshire. The project is led by Royal Holloway, University of London and Newcastle University and funded by the Arts & Humanities Research Council. The talk runs for about an hour and leads into an evening concert with the Melrose Quartet.
