Ex Corde Vocal Ensemble & The York Waits

Ex Corde Vocal Ensemble and The York Waits join forces for Christmas music from Renaissance Rome, including masses by Arcadelt and Palestrina.

Two York-based ensembles combine for a festive programme of Christmas music associated with Renaissance Rome, pairing large-scale sacred polyphony with traditional Italian seasonal songs and instrumental pieces. Arcadelt's Missa Noe Noe and Palestrina's Missa Hodie Christus natus est frame the evening, alongside motets by de Silva and Victoria, lullabies and domestic Christmas music. The concert runs approximately 75 minutes.
