About
A free exhibition at Guildhall Library exploring the history of London's printed broadsides and how they relayed news, satire and songs to the public.
The exhibition traces the history of broadsides, the cheaply printed sheets posted on London's walls from the 16th century onward. They dispensed news, gossip, advice, laws, songs, illustrations and political satire to the general public, high and low alike. Displays show how these printed sheets witnessed much of London's history. The exhibition is on at Guildhall Library during its opening hours, ending on 29 October 2026.
