Quirkie Birdies

A six-hour textile workshop with Angela Neilson where participants stitch and decorate a quirky stuffed bird from fabric scraps.

Angela Neilson, a mixed media and textile artist and tutor, leads a full-day class suitable for all levels of experience. Participants use small fabric scraps, joined with simple running stitch (a sewing machine is optional), to make the body and wings of a stuffed bird. The birds are then turned, stuffed and decorated with stitch, lace, beads, sequins and feathers, with beads for eyes, buttons for the wings and wire legs fashioned and inserted to finish. The day runs 10am to 4pm with doors at 9:30am, refreshments provided, and is open to all ages.
