Mixed Media Textiles

Combine fabric, paint, heat, thread, wire and embellishments in a textile picture.

Participants experiment with colour and texture using paints, fabrics, heat, threads, wire, beads and other embellishments. The course explores unconventional uses of textile materials, including acrylic paint on silk, heat on organza, Lutradur and Tyvek, and knitting with wire. Samples are arranged into an original abstract or representational landscape or seascape; no previous art or textile experience is required.
