Punching Through

A free drop-in Punch Needle embroidery workshop where participants learn the technique and make a small festive hanging to take home.

Part of the museum's Make It Yours series in the Creative Courtyard, this session is led by Flossie & Bean and introduces Punch Needle embroidery, a technique with a history stretching from medieval garments and religious panels to rugs. Participants will learn the basics and produce a small festive hanging to take away. The session references embroidery's longstanding place in prison life and is free and open to all.
