Discover Bandhani: A Textiles Workshop

A free hands-on textiles workshop where artist Monique Kaur Kellay introduces the South Asian resist-dye craft of Bandhani.

Part of the monthly From Object to Art craft club, this session teaches Bandhani, an intricate resist-dye technique with roots in South Asia. Participants pinch and tie fabric with thread before dyeing it to create patterns, making their own naturally dyed fabric swatch inspired by textiles in the museum's collections. All materials are provided, no experience is needed, and the workshops suit ages seven and up, with under-16s accompanied by an adult.
