About

A free hands-on cyanotype workshop at the National Justice Museum exploring historic prisoner trades and skills through photographic prints.

This drop-in creative session teaches the cyanotype photographic process, producing Prussian blue prints using objects, written words, drawings and photo negatives. Participants use these layered techniques to contrast the tools and trades once learned by prisoners with the skills needed today, reflecting on crafts that are dying out in the technological age. It is part of the museum's free Make It Yours sessions in the Creative Courtyard, led by artists, makers and writers and open to everyone.
