All Souls’ Service
About
A poignant All Souls’ Day service of choral music and readings at which loved ones who have died are commemorated by name with candles lit on the altar.
St Bride’s Church holds its All Souls’ Service, one of its most popular and poignant services, commemorating family, friends and loved ones who have passed away. St Bride’s Choir sings the Offertoire from Desenclos’s Requiem, after which the names of the dearly departed are read aloud and candles are lit on the altar in their memory. The choir then performs Allegri’s Miserere mei (Psalm 51). The service lasts approximately one hour and all are welcome; names for remembrance must be submitted before 12 noon on 1st November.
