Liquid Reflections: Liliane Lijn in Conversation with Laurence Sillars
About
Artist Liliane Lijn discusses her new memoir Liquid Reflections with Laurence Sillars, with a performance by J.R. Carpenter and a book signing.
University of Leeds Cultural Collections & Galleries and Poetry@Leeds celebrate the publication of Liliane Lijn's memoir Liquid Reflections, an account of her early years in Paris as a young artist in the late 1950s. Lijn, who created the nine-metre Converse Column sculpture for the university's Public Art Trail in 2019, returns to campus for a conversation with Laurence Sillars of the Henry Moore Institute. The evening opens with a contextual talk by Professor Fiona Becket and a performance of J.R. Carpenter's new work Column of Sky, created in response to Converse Column, followed by a reception and book signing.
