About
An exhibition of Chuck Rapoport's photographs of the Aberfan community in the weeks after the 1966 disaster, marking the 60th memorial.
Marking the 60th memorial of the 1966 Aberfan disaster, this exhibition presents photographs by American photojournalist I.C. (Chuck) Rapoport, taken in the weeks following the tragedy. The images record a community coming to terms with profound loss while showing the compassion, courage and solidarity that endured. Originally published internationally in LIFE magazine, the photographs are loaned by the National Library of Wales and presented as a space for remembrance of the children and adults who died.
