About
An evening of folk music and percussive dance pairing the National Youth Folk Ensemble with Hannah James's Jig Doll Ensemble at the NCEM in York.
Presented by the English Folk Dance and Song Society, the evening opens with the National Youth Folk Ensemble, talented 14–19 year old musicians from across England performing contemporary takes on traditional tunes, led by Artistic Director Hannah James. The second half features the Jig Doll Ensemble, Hannah James's project combining percussive dance, storytelling, harmony singing and hypnotic melodies with a pan-European band of musicians. The performance runs from 7.30pm to approximately 9.30pm.
