Zelt and Tashkezar + Support

A Komedia Studio gig presenting Anglo-Turkish post-punk trio Zelt, Egyptian psych-funk band Tashkezar and accordion-and-violin duo Mazaika.

Fail Better Presents an evening of three acts in the Komedia Studio. Zelt, a London-based Anglo-Turkish three-piece, blend SWANA-inspired post-punk and electronics with acid house and surf twang. Tashkezar combine Egyptian 80s/90s pop, Balkan folk and Turkish 70s psych, while Mazaika — Igor Outkine on vocals and midi accordion with violinist Sarah Harrison — perform Russian folk, Gypsy, tango, opera and klezmer-inflected material. The show is standing, ages 14+, with under-16s accompanied by an adult.
