Art Workshop - Winter Botanicals

A sold-out one-day art workshop at Burghley House learning to design, sketch and paint winter botanicals with artist Hannah Magrath.

This full-day workshop (9.30am–3.30pm) in the Cheke Room at Burghley House teaches participants to design, sketch and paint winter wreaths and seasonal botanicals, drawing inspiration from the gardens and surrounding landscape. Working from photographic reference, attendees explore winter flora and foliage including dried plants, fruits and natural textures, using watercolour, ink or gouache. Artist Hannah Magrath provides demonstrations and one-to-one support throughout, guiding participants from planning a design and layout to building up layers of colour. All materials are provided and the session suits both beginners and those with some experience.
