Marco Fusi
About
Violist Marco Fusi performs world premieres by Scott McLaughlin and Martin Iddon for viola d'amore, viola and electronics.
Marco Fusi premieres two works written for him: Scott McLaughlin's 'there is no gap between bird and song' for viola d'amore, in which Fusi prepares the instrument with small metal rings and responds to its unstable, shifting sounds, and Martin Iddon's 'Cherry Ripe' for viola and fixed media, mixing Cold War-era number station recordings with live and processed viola. Both pieces treat the instrument as an active agent in shaping the music rather than a mere means of realisation. The concert runs from 7:00pm to 8:30pm at Clothworkers Centenary Concert Hall.
