Farlington Marsh
About
A morning birdwatching field meeting at Farlington Marsh reserve, meeting at 08:30 to look for waders, ducks, geese and possibly Bearded Tits.
Surrey Bird Club's field meeting at Farlington Marsh is a morning-only walk of around three miles over flat ground, some of it unmade. The group meets at 08:30 in the main western car park, arriving as the tide comes in, so waders should be on the move. The reserve's mix of mudflats, sea, grazing marsh, lagoons, reedbeds and scrub could yield 50-60 species including waders, ducks, geese, gulls and passerines, with raptors and Bearded Tits among the specialities. Attendees should wear sturdy shoes and weather-appropriate clothing and bring their own refreshments, as there are no toilets or cafe on site.
